Land Equity International (LEI) is ready to hire a passionate and skilled Research and Communications Officer to help advance equitable land governance worldwide. This full-time, permanent role can be based in Wollongong or remotely, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

You’ll play a pivotal role in project reporting, research, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring timely and high-quality project deliverables. With a focus on access to land and the land-people relationships, you’ll collaborate with our global project teams. About LEI: Land Equity International (LEI) is dedicated to advancing equitable land and natural resource governance and addressing land-tenure related issues for the benefit of communities and governments globally. About the role: The Research and Communications Officer will support the execution and evaluation of projects, playing a key role in communicating achievements, advancing the international knowledge base and supporting business development. The role will help to ensure project deliverables and proposals are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves research, report writing and documentation, and opportunities to collaborate with internal and external consultants and clients in the field.

Terms of Reference 

Key Responsibilities

Project Reporting and Coordination

  • Prepare and support delivery of comprehensive and well-structured reports on project activities, findings, and outcomes.
  • Establish project templates for inception reports, risk management, and monitoring.
  • Monitor project progress and report on status, issues, and risks.

Research and Analysis

  • Carry out rapid research and analysis related to access to land, land system, and the land-people relationships to support business development and project results and impact.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with project stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and partner organizations under the direction of the Project Director.
  • Drive and deliver LEI’s communication strategy and materials

Business Development Support

  • Play an active role in the company’s business development

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • A university degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, development studies, arts, engineering, journalism, communications, or related disciplines.

Experience

  • 3 years’ professional experience in project communications, either in your own right or in a supporting role, preferably in a non-profit or international development context.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in report writing and documentation.

Skill

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Genuine interest in international development, land, natural resources and people-to-land issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to LEI’s values and mission.

Working Conditions

Travel: Global travel (Irregular and infrequent) to conferences and projects to present on behalf of LEI and represent LEI in networking opportunities.

Salary and Benefits

AUD 80K-100K including super (depending on experience and qualifications).
