The Mekong Region Land Governance Project aims to improve land governance in four of the Mekong countries, by empowering local reform actors, building alliances, and supporting policy influencing activities. The Project takes a regional approach across Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam to support cross country learning and to facilitate and open up space for dialogue and alliance building. The Project has been designed to deliver the following key objective: Smallholder women and men farmers in CLMV countries, especially those belonging to ethnic minorities, have secure and equitable access to and control over agricultural land, forest and fisheries.

The Grant Facility of MRLG is the leading implementation facility for the four-country program working with more than 50 implementing partners in civil society, government, and academia.

The Grants Manager plays a crucial role within the Management Team of the project to support national and regional facilitators in bringing comprehensive work stream packages (within a Grant Facility) in alignment with various members of the alliance (MRLG partner implementing organisations) and the project goals and objectives.

The Grants Manager is responsible for

-contracting and monitoring the work stream packages within the project grant facility budget and ensuring compliance based on an approved project operations manual.

– technical reviews of the contract reports.

– providing support to the project to design and facilitate workshops and consultations in daily operations.

– undertaking domestic/international travel regularly to meet with partners

Key qualifications and experience required:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant field, such as Public Policy, International Development, Business Administration, Rural Development
  • Evidence of training qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation/Project Design
  • At least six years work experience in international development responsible for grant management or project management including financial management responsibilities
  • At least six years of work experience in the field of land governance, agriculture, and/or forestry
  • At least four years of project design and monitoring and evaluation experience
